May 5th is Cinco de Mayhem with The Tornado Sirens

Posted on April 20th, 2012

You’ve heard of Cinco de Mayo, right? It’s a date to celebrate Mexican heritage and pride! It’s also the date for the final home bout of the sixth Naptown Roller Girls season. For “Cinco de Mayhem,” the Tornado Sirens welcome a North Central region foe in from the great white North – the Minnesota Roller Girls All-Stars. Minnesota emerged as the #2 seed from the “Monumental Mayhem” Women’s Flat Track Derby Association Tournament last fall here in Indianapolis (Naptown was the #3 Seed). The Sirens last faced this tough team on their home turf last April, which was notably their most exciting bout of the season. The Sirens fell during the last minutes of the game. This is the rematch we’ve been waiting for all season! Leave the tequila at home and head out to the Pepsi Coliseum for what will be a “muy bien” bout!

Single bout tickets are on sale:

Our bouts are family friendly but it is VERY loud! Our fans are excited! If your child is scared easily by loud noise, a roller derby bout may not be a good place to be. You may also want to bring ear protection for young children.

Anyone who has ever spent time in the Midwest is familiar with the term “Hoosier Hospitality.” However, on April 27th, we will be opting for something slightly more aggressive!
