Q & A with Honey Badger
By: Peyton Slamming
The Honey Badger is a tough creature – similar to a weasel in species and
relentless in the wild. The same can be said about Naptown’s very own
skater of the same name! Honey joined the league in the summer of 2011
and quickly rose as a star jammer for the Third Alarm.
Q: What attracted you to the sport of roller derby?
A: I love the balance of strategy and physicality and there’s always room to
grow and improve.
Q: What has been your favorite derby moment so far?
A: Playing in the B-Cup Tournament in Bloomington earlier this year. Three
bouts in one day was exhausting, but I learned a lot and had so much fun.
Q: What do you do to unwind after practice?
A: Yoga, food, and music.
Q: Name a quirky fact fans might not know about you.
A: I practice my lateral movements (moving from side to side) by playing
soccer with my dog. He is an incredible defender.
