Q & A with Shiva Diva
She’s the “Goddess of Destruction and Diva of Disaster:” Shiva Diva (#1980) has become a force on the flat track as a member of the Warning Belles. Shiva is a crafty pivot and blocker and is making her way up the ranks of the Naptown Roller Girls’ organization. Our Peyton Slamming caught up with this busy lady!
Q: Who are you and where do you come from?
A: I am many things and wear many hats! I’m originally from Columbia, Missouri!
Q: What attracted you to roller derby?
A: I’ve always loved skating and it was an outlet for me when I moved here not knowing anyone! (League founder) Strawberry Jam talked me in to trying out (whom I didn’t really know at the time). She even let me borrow all her derby gear and for that I am truly grateful!
Q: What’s been the highlight of your derby career so far?
A: Playing for a wonderful, classy league while gaining lots of friendships. It has also built up my confidence, which has helped both on and off the track!
Q: What do you do to relax/unwind off the track?
A: Who’s got time for that? What’s “relaxing” mean? It’s either work or derby! I do findtime to unwind by working out and spending time with my pups!
Q: Tell the fans something odd or interesting they might not know about you!
A: I iron my jeans and thought there was nothing wrong with it until my first away overnight derby trip and nobody has let it down yet! I dislike wrinkled clothes!
