A Special Announcement!
After celebrating a decade of providing world-class sporting events for Indianapolis, the Naptown Roller Girls are taking steps toward being a more inclusive and supportive environment for skaters and staff.
We’re excited to announce that, as of January 1st, 2017, the Naptown organization is now known as Naptown Roller Derby.
Naptown Roller Derby will continue our team mission of empowering amateur athletes and offering high-level flat track roller derby to our fans around the world. We will continue to adhere to the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association membership requirements. We are dedicated to being a team that represents everyone in Indianapolis, and we want our fans, opponents, and skaters to know that everyone is welcome!
What does this mean exactly? We’re glad you asked!
After much thought, the league decided to change our name to fit a growing trend of inclusion in the sport. Additionally, we are all required to be 18 or older to participate, so we no longer feel like the term “girls” applies to us.
As for our official merchandise, we are still going to be selling Naptown Roller Girls branded merchandise for the foreseeable future. We’ll be transitioning our merchandise to reflect our name change over the course of the season.
Don’t forget – season passes are on sale through January 15th!
Also, single-bout tickets are available for January 28th now!
