Sponsorship Info

The Naptown Roller Girls (NRG) is a member-owned and operated, amateur, all-female, nationally sanctioned (WFTDA) flat-track roller derby league out of Indianapolis, Indiana. First established in 2006 by a small group of determined athletes and their supporters, the Naptown Roller Girls have continued their record breaking growth heading into their 7th season. The Tornado Sirens are currently ranked 3rd in the North Central Region and are among the top 20 teams in the world!

The Naptown Roller Girls are dedicated to the continued growth of the sport of roller derby in Indianapolis and the surrounding region, as well as to elevating themselves as a first-class amateur athletic team and an impactful community organization.

The league has grown from 15 skaters in its inaugural season to over 80 skaters at the beginning of the 2012-2013 season. In addition to the nationally sanctioned Tornado Sirens, NRG has competed all over the central region with two additional teams: the Naptown Warning Belles and the Naptown Third Alarm. There is an amazing and generous community of sponsors, supporters, fans, friends and family that has played a significant role in NRG’s ability to grow with its many top-talent skaters.

While the sporting season is 6 months long, the league stays active year round on behalf of local charities, sponsors and community affiliations. The Naptown Roller Girls are honored to be involved with the Damien Center, Great Indy Cleanup, Girls Inc., Gleaners Food Bank, Indiana Youth Group, Young Survival Coalition, and dozens of other organizations. We have also participated in events that raised funds or awareness for MADD, Wheeler Mission, Riley Hospital, American Heart Association, Arthritis Foundation, Make-a-Wish Foundation, Indianapolis Neighborhood Housing Partnership, Coburn Place Safe Haven, and the United Way, amongst others.

NRG also partners up with young, local artists to support their charitable activities as well as to design our much-admired event posters gaining valuable exposure for them. In June of 2009, the Naptown Roller Girls were honored with a Cultural Vision Award from NUVO. This award is given to individuals or groups in Indianapolis who bring cultural innovation to our community and make it a better place for all of us to live. NUVO honored NRG for creating an organization that brings fun and excitement to the city as well as giving back to our community through all of our charitable donations.

Roller Derby is taking over cities, airwaves, lives and skating rinks nationally. After a boost of awareness from the movie “Whip It!”, interest in roller derby is at an all-time high. From the A&E show “Roller Girls” to the Today Show, Wife Swap, Trading Spaces, Biggest Loser and more, roller girls are everywhere! The Naptown Roller Girls have been seen on every major news station in Indianapolis, as well as on the cover of the issues of Indianapolis Monthly, Current in Carmel and other regional newspapers. In past years, NRG was voted The Best Local Amateur Sporting Team by Nuvo. NRG has also been featured in Nuvo, InTake, the Indianapolis Star, Around Indy, Across Indiana, The Score, Inside Indiana Business, Indy South Magazine, the Indianapolis Music Channel, WKLU, WTTS, WIBC, numerous blogs, podcasts and several more radio stations.

The Naptown Roller Girls strive to be the best roller derby team in the nation – to put on the highest level of competition for local fans and to partner with local community organizations and businesses to make a difference. We have already set records locally and nationally with our dedicated fan base and generous sponsorships. We know that our success as a team is measured on the track as well as off and we are eager to make this season the best year ever! While the Pepsi Coliseum undergoes its current renovation, we look forward to packing the Marsh Blue Ribbon Pavilion at the Indiana State Fairgrounds and the Indiana Convention Center for our 2012-2013 season.

We would love to partner with your company for our 7th season, so please consider supporting us through a derby sponsorship! Official sponsorship status will begin on the date of our first game and will be valid for one full year. In some instances, sponsorship benefits will begin after our first bout but the contract will still be good for one year from the date of our first official bout. One of the benefits of signing up now is that you’ll get maximum exposure from all of those derby fans visiting our website now and attending our bouts.
