The Naptown Roller Girls need your help to travel to International WFTDA Division 1 Playoffs in Vancouver, British Columbia, in Canada, where the Tornado Sirens will go up against some of the most talented skaters in the world.
The tournament takes place from September 16th-18th, 2016, with the Sirens competing for a chance at women’s flat track roller derby’s highest honor — to attend the 2016 World Championships in November.
In order to get there, we need your help! Check out our Go Fund Me page!
Donations will go toward funding travel and hotel expenses for the team and coaches. Here are some examples of how you can help:
$10 – Water to keep a Siren hydrated for the weekend
$25 – Feed a Siren for a day
$50 – Athletic tape to hold skaters together
$100 – Daily car rental so we don’t have to hitchhike in Vancouver
$200 – One night at a hotel room to keep the players rested and ready to rumble
$500 – One round-trip flight to get skaters to playoffs and home safely
We play at the highest level of the world’s fastest-growing amateur sport. Skaters aren’t paid athletes — in fact, we pay dues to the league to participate, both for our love of the sport and the chance to be a part of something bigger than ourselves.
We love our fans and we can’t do what we do without you! Please help us make our trip to playoffs a huge success.
Thank you for your love and support. Long live Naptown!
*all reward items can be redeemed at our first home bout of 2017
Also, there’s another option for fundraising: private skater training with a Tornado Siren!
